These Are Our
Services
01.
Design & Planning
The first step to making your native garden a reality is planning and design. Our on-site consultations help us gather the needed information to make sure we understand your vision and the practical considerations. Each client and site is unique, offering lots of opportunities to get creative, whether installing a new, lush patio or a rain garden to alleviate storm drainage issues.
After scheduling the consultation, we will send you a questionnaire to fill out. We will use this as a starting point to explore options for your landscape. Once we’ve collected the site information and your input we will work on a garden design to present at the next session. This will outline which services we can provide (and their costs) and you can choose how to move forward.

02.
Garden Install
Using the developed garden design, Midwest Native Landscaping can get to work putting it into action. This usually includes removing unwanted plant material and other features so we can start with a clean slate. Prepping the site and installing hardscape and other features comes next, followed lastly by plants and mulch.
The timeline for garden installs is very weather-dependent. While many site-prep and carpentry steps can happen year-round, installing the plants usually has to happen March – July or September – November. Communicating well with clients to arrange for the most appropriate install schedule is very important to us.

03.
Garden Care
No garden is maintenance-free, even native plant gardens. Despite our effort to choose plant species that are acclimated to our region and require less watering, there are some basic care requirements throughout the year. Clients can choose from quarterly, monthly, or bi-weekly maintenance schedules. We always invite clients to join us in the garden on maintenance days to have an even more enriching experience with their new landscape!
